—————————————————————————————————————————-
1- Jedi Mind Tricks- Heavenly Divine
I really like the beat in this song as well as the completely different styles both artists employ. One has a coarse and violent delivery while the other guy’s delivery is pretty mellow.
2- Akrobatik- Kindred
This my third favorite song on the mix. The lyrics in the song are very descriptive and gives the listener very clear images of what he’s rapping about.
3- Jedi Mind Tricks- Exertions Remix
This my favorite track on the mix. I don’t really know what the song is about but I like the flows of each of the artists especially Esoteric (the third guy in the song). I’m a sucker for artists with fast deliveries so this another reason for why this is one of my favorites.
4- One Be Lo- Rocketship
One Be Lo is a very talented guy who uses very clever lyrics and this is in full display in this song. He highlights how hip-hop has decreased in quality and how he is here to rescue it and bring it back to what it once was. By the way this is my second favorite track.
5- Akrobatik- Time
This song sounds quite different when compared to the other songs that have played thus far. Like One Be Lo, Akrobatik also proclaims himself as a savior of hip-hop in this track.
6- One Be Lo- The Ghetto
In this song One Be Lo raps about a common topic among underground artists, the ghetto. This is a true underground track with thought provoking conscious lyrics.
7- Aesop Rock- None Shall Pass
Like Akrobatik’s Time, this song also sounds quite different when compared to the other songs on the mix. It’s not one of my favorites but I included it to add a little variety.
8- One Be Lo- Gray
Another thought provoking song from One Be Lo. This is the only song in the mix which features what appears to be a saxophone or another type of woodwind family instrument.
9- One Be Lo- Born & Raised
Here he talks about his life experiences over an upbeat beat.
10- Planet Asia- Street Hop
For the finale a little Street Hop. Out of all the songs this is probably the one with the most mainstream appeal.
